Early Intensive Clinic based ABA Services
Research has shown that when effective ABA services are delivered early (18 months-36 months) and often (30-40 hours per week), significant progress can be made for children with autism. Currently, Learning Continuum (LC) provides clinic based early intensive ABA services for children ranging 18 months-10 years old.
The clinic based model allows for direct teaching of skills, utilizing Discrete Trial Training (DTT) as well as greater opportunities to conduct Natural Environment Training (NET) sessions and build social skills with peers. This allows the child to learn and practice new skills to be generalized to their home environment.
A day at LC looks like:
8:45-9:00 Arrival
9:00-9:15 Put away items from backpack
9:15-9:45 Circle Time
9:45-11:30 1:1 programs
11:30-12:15 Lunch
12:20-1:05 Social skills/Play
1:05-2:10 1:1 programs
2:10-3:00 Social skills/Play
3:00-3:30 Afternoon snack/1:1 programs
3:30-4:00 1:1 programs/group activity
4:00-4:15 Clean up and prepare for departure

Within the framework of early ABA services, many ancillary services are also provided. Some of those services include: school support, community outings, treatment progress meetings and training in the principles of ABA for parents, siblings, and other caregivers.
